Transpose Audio (WAV, MP3, Etc.)

Does anyone know if there is a way to transpose non-midi files. I have not had a need for this before so sorry in advance if this is newbie!! I have PT LE 7.4. Thanks.

Yes, by using the Pitch or Time Shift plugin.

The results all depend on how far you are transposing.

1/2 a step is usually OK (possibly a bit more), but for anything more drastic, I usually opt for retracking.

Check out Serato Pitch & Time and Antares AutoTune. They both come with a price, but especially with Pitch & Time, there's some cool stuff in there.... of course, I think Elastic Audio closed some of the gap between Digi CE and Pitch & Time

As has been mentioned however, most notable for the DigiRack plugins, getting away with mroe than about 2 semitones or more, or 10% TCE expansion, will introduce audible artifacts. All depends upon what the sound's frequency content is as well.
