Default Good Vocals - PLUGINS.?

I'm getting pretty good results with the vocals "as is"; dry with a tad of compression & reverb, bottom line; Vocals sound pretty dang good, but they're not quiet FLUSH with the music itself..... Are there any crazy plugins/filters that could help mesh the vocals in a little better?

At this point all I am doing is doubling the vocals (singing twice) hard panning R/L, adding a tad of compression & reverb...

any advice would be appreciated...

Tommy

TRIAD?

Any other ideas?

Maybe some EQ suggestions?

Thanks.

That was HILARIOUS! Seriously, that was an awesome rant!
You need to double the vocal, pan it center, and apply an LA-2A style compressor that will smooth out the vocal making it seem much bigger in the mix.
Peace!

It was more of a "harmonic" suggestion and not a "here's your answer". Don't double the vocals, singing the same pitch, harmonize. I thought that was pretty helpful advice, actually.

The major triad is one of the most basic harmonies in music. It is formed by taking the first, third, and fifth note of the major scale and playing them simultaneously. This triad has a "happy" sound to it and is often used as the basic chord in a major piece. So what's the big deal with triads? Well, they are a very common form of harmony. By themselves, though, they don't mean too much. This is because music uses a wide variety of chords that have complex relationships to each other. Let's say we have a piece in the key of C Major. This means that many of the melodic notes are taken from the C Major scale. The basic harmonic chord also starts on the key of C (the notes would then be C, E, and G). Now this doesn't prohibit the composer from using other triads starting on other notes in the scale. For example, the composer can use a triad starting on G (the notes would then be G, B, and D).

Vocalign works well on doubled (or triad) vocals. Another tip would be not to be so rude to people that are trying to help you. Good luck.

I agree...it wasn't a bad suggestion...suggestion being the key word here. Your language and attitude will not get you much help here...especially calling this a useless forum and straight out attacking someone trying to help.

The other suggestions are good as well, see if they help your situation. The LA-2A is arguably the best limiter/leveling amp of all-time.

You've got two unique vocal recordings panned hard L/R, and complain about the vocals not blending well? You should be grateful for any advice on recording and mixing TECHNIQUES given to you. Placing at least one vocal take smack in the middle is a standard TECHNIQUE, and usually blends very well, and sounds right.

Gandalf out - over.

Yeah, I'm all gushing to help this guy now...NOT.

No suggestions from me. Our self-declared "7-year-old" may go into another tantrum.
