Pro Tools 2022.6/7 stuttering constantly Windows 11

Hi, I recently got an HP Victus 16 laptop, and unfortunately it is only compatible with the steaming pile of crap that is Windows 11. In Pro Tools, every minute or two it freezes. It doesn't hard crash, but makes it incredibly slow to try and get any work done. Microsoft and HP support have been useless, because of course they just blame the other for the issue, or say it's the specific programs I'm using. Video of my issue below.

HP Victus
i7 12700H, 16GB 4800MHz, 1TB SSD, 3060, Smasung PM9A1 gen 4 SSD.
Power optimization: Performance
Battery saver: off

Any suggestions on what might be causing this would be incredible.

The OS is not the issue...

Click "Help Us Help You" at the top of this forum. Navigate to:

Avid Computer Optimizations (for Windows)

I have done the optimizations, and it is on a fresh install of Win 11, so none of that pre-installed bloatware is one the laptop. Literally nothing has changed the performance. Hyperthreading, power optimization, etc. It's all the same. The same exact sessions, from the same drive, work on my Win 10 machine with 2019.12, with a 9 year old CPU.

Are you using Waves plugins? Many of us have been hit with that and slow session loading. My sessions were freezing up every time auto save kicked in.

I was helping someone today with an issue that was very much like yours on a Lenovo Notebook - there were random periodic clicks.

The solution was to go into the startup list and disable everything except the audio driver. In particular there was some Intel software that once disabled allowed very low latency operation with no clicks. Make sure you restart after making these changes.

Also do a search for Processor Affinity. It's helped me a lot.

+2 Affinity settings turned an unusable system into a trouble free workhorse for me. All other Windows optimisations had zero benefit.
