Default Strange iLok issue

I don't know if anyone has any suggestions, but here goes. Up until about 10 days ago had a very stable PT9 system no problems. Then one day my iLok died, not the first time, no clients in so I RMA'd it. A few days later a nice replacement ilok 2 arrives (yes they are replacing RMA'd 1's with the new version 2). A few days later all my licences are back.
Plugged in ilok all synced lovely, ready to go for some weekends work. Started PT it waited for a bit then came up saying no licence could be found, not the usual 'Authorise' box but just a dialogue box. Tried again same thing the a bigger dialogue saying a critical core component was missing.

I checked iLok site, my ilok was working fine even tried some of my other licences for vst and au plugins in Peak all fine just no PT9.

Tried in my MacBook pro, all works fine PT9 fires straight up. Reformatted Mac Pro installed just PT9 on fresh 10.6.4 with Pace and 003 drivers same error ??
Any ideas ?

Is your iLok connected to a USB hub? If so, try a USB port on the Mac.

Yes i've tried front and back ports, as well hub and keyboard, it makes no difference. like I said the iLok is working fine for all other assets, it's only Pro Tools 9 that doesn't seem to see it.

That's odd that it works on one system and not the other. A clean uninstall of Pro Tools and any PACE drivers, maybe?

Do you have a spare iLok you can transfer the Pro Tools license to? See if it works.

OK, i've poked a bit further, I have tried my PT8 disk it works fine and all auths on the iLok are seen.

If I start PT9 without the iLok as expected i get this-

If i start with the iLok I get this-

On reinstalling latest PACE drivers I get the following-

THe iLok definitely has the correct asset on it as i'm having no problems on my Macbook Pro with PT9. Only on this Mac, and i've done a clean install of it all and i've tried a clean install of SL the PT8 and upgrading to 9, this made no difference. And just to reiterate this was working fine before my ilok died.

I do have a spare iLok although it is also a version 2, I think I will see if I can borrow a version 1 and try that.

Can't hurt, right? I would even give the spare v2 a shot...
