MBox 2 Academic and Snow leopard

I have a new Imac 21" with Snow Leopard and Pro Tools 8.0.3 installed using an Mbox 2 Academic. When Launching PT the Mbox 2 is not seen by the application. The Mbox 2 DOES show up in the Core Audio of the iMac and can be used by the computer and other apps such as Digital Performer, system, etc. Is there a firmware upgrade I need to know about or is there something different about the Academic version of MBox 2?
