Edit/Mix Window Toggle not working

When working from edit window I can toggle to the mix window using CMD = without a problem. Recently, I can't toggle back to the edit window with same key command.

When I am in the mix window and I look in the menu, I can't see the shortcut to toggle to the edit window, but when I'm in the edit window, I see the shortcut for the mix window.

How did I break it??? Any clues?

No idea here. But, one benefit of the Presonus Faderport(old or new version) is the buttons that select either MIX or EDIT windows. More convenient than a 2-key command on the keyboard(and it offers many other handy functions that make it a great addition to anyone without a control surface). Check it out as it might solve issues you didn't even know you had

Yeah, it's a strange one. I actually do have a faderport! Very handy, though I don't use it anymore. We have a C24 at the studio.

I may try trashing the prefs today to see if it helps.

C24 has buttons to switch between the 2 windows. Having said that, I often work at a friend's place and he has a C24. I still leave a faderport at his place so I can have transport and window selection at my left hand I wish somebody would build a control surface where you could re-arrange the master section to the side you prefer(yes, S6 does this, but the price tag is a tad high)

Yeah, that's not a bad idea at all having the faderport on the left!

Honestly, I rarely choose to look at the mix window. It's just not a common part of my workflow. I'm just annoyed though!

Also, didn't get a chance to try anything today, so we'll see about tomorrow and I'll post the results.

Update, prefs have been trashed, no change. Pretty frustrating!

That's happened to me but I don't remember what was the solution, it was something super simple. Check out there's no disk on the cd drive.

No, I mean that something similar happened to me but I don't remember how I solved it, it was something simple that I found myself but I forgot. The only thing that comes to my mind is to check if there's a cd on the drive of your computer and remove it, that's proven to cause problems with Pro Tools.

I'm afraid I don't know what this is, but I'll be very curious to find out. Have you tried disconnecting *all* peripherals (faderport, midi peripherals, extra USB accessories)?


No system info given so not much more to say yet.
