Default Quicktime monitoring settings

Having problems monitoring the audio when opening Quicktime in standalone mode.

PT9 running fine with movies and audio all day long, but when needing to open Quicktime in standalone mode for reference purposes it will not playback through 192.

I was wondering what settings people were using to be able to effortlessly flip between working / monitoring in PT and the viewing a standalone quicktime through the same monitoring.

If you're on a mac go to the sound settings in the OSX preferences.
Don't know if the 192 appears there, but my 3rd party-interface is showing in the "output" dialog.

I have that, but when I try and open quicktime standalone with a PT9 session open it (quicktime) now refuses to even play.

I can play Quicktime, iTunes, VLC, whatever parallel to playback in PT.
Might be a driver thing? When I worked on HD I never used the 192 for something other than PT, so I can't help any further, sorry.

once PT grabs the 192, that's the only app that can use it.

use an optical cable and route it out of the mac into the 192 and put it as an aux in your session. then you can listen to the mac's audio output through the 192 with PT open.
