hello,

Just purchased PT 8 LE for my MacBook Pro running MacOs 10.5.5 with an Mbox Mini.
Every Time i try to launch the apps it crashes during the splash screen with this error report :

Which version of PT and which OS were you using previously?

Most likely then you have some plugin (Melodyne perhaps) that isn't leopard compatible.

Move Rewire out of the plugins folder and then tell us what happens, my money is on that old chesnut.

Yes, the crash report looks like its crashing on loading the Melodyne rewire. IIRC that's what happened with my non-Leopard compatible version of Reason when I went to 10.5 and 7.4.2. Upgrading Reason ultimately fixed it - but yes, moving the rewire.dpm got me running in the short term.

i had the same problem... and that fixed it... but now i would like to know how to get protools working with rewire...

It does - you just have to update all your ReWire applications (Melodyne, Live, Reason, etc.) to compatible versions.
