Pro Tools 2021.12 Big Sur POOF Party!

Hi all,

Q: What's a POOF?
A. It's when Pro Tools just disappears without a trace while loading.

So, I finally decided to put Pro Tools 2021.12 on to my M1 Mac Mini running OS11 aka Big Sur 11.6.2

I installed many of my updated plugins last month as I tested with Reason 12.

So far I have learned:
Slate Digital VBC collection causes crashes 1.2.14
SSL Native X-Saturator v 6.5.0
Soundtoys in a no go.

Perhaps this was all known, but, perhaps it will help someone else.

I have yet to get Pro Tools 2021.12 to launch...

I will update as I learn more. I imagine it is another few plugins that need to be removed.

FWIW it seems the Avid Pro Series, Eventide XII, Plugin-Alliance Mega Bundle, Fabfilter bundle, Softube and UJAM are playing nice, I believe...

oh!...reading the system log it appears that the 2 different versions of PA Shadow Hills Mastering is causing a hang "Which one will be used is undefined"..."Service Exited due to SIGKILL"

Guess I'll pull those next.

Any tips much appreciated.

PS: I'm running the latest iLok 5.5.1 GM (Golden Master)

UPDATE #1:
Softube Summit EQF-100 is causing a SIGKILL - again seems like it is sharing an ID number?
I pulled Grand Channel, EQF-100 and TLA-100, for now.

I'm running a 16" MBP M1 MAX on Monterey with Pro Tools 2021.12 with all of the SoundToys plugins with no problems.
Have you tried upgrading all of you plugins to the latest versions? I know the SoundToys plugs just came out of beta for their M1 stuff.

Having gone to the trouble of upgrading Pro Tools to 2021.12 it would have been worth bringing the computer to Monterey. The Mac Mini M1 works brilliantly with the latest operating system.

Maybe you should make a bootable backup and then a fresh install of Monterey.

By adding back just one vendor at a time to the aax plugins folder, everything seems to be working fairly well.

Out of respect for the manufacturers in my earlier post, I wanted to update that I've been able to get all of them to work.

Looking forward to native M1 support, but I'm happy to be using Pro Tools 12.2021 Ultimate on my M1 Mac Mini on Big Sur.
