My fan noise is always as maximum too since the beginning of using carbon.

Thanks Kyle,

I got all from Mark. Carbon fan is much better now. This will be a very good update!

Improved. Still really noisy, but it's gone from sounding like I'm in a machine room with tape lead slapping against the frame repeatedly to a normal room with a box fan on in it. There's a tone to it now, too, at about 215Hz that can be lessened with a narrow cut.

I made a Channel Strip setting that I'm happy enough with the results of.

With that it's gone to "noisy, but usable."

How is Carbon set up? Is it rack mounted? Are there other devices on top and/or below it? If so, are those devices running hot?

Is the fan noise noticeable if Pro Tools is not running?

I took it out for testing. Just open air on 5 sides. I haven't tried the fan noise to TB with PT closed. I'm not sure how. Fan is always running, I think, if that's what you meant.

Hey Matt,

I should've been more clear with my question. Do you notice fan noise from the unit itself as well? Or, are you only encountering fan noise bleeding into the talkback mic?

I only hear it when my ear is right by it.

BTW, the fan didn't seem to kick up to higher speed until PT was open.

Thanks, Matt. That's what I'd expect.

Before the beta the fan noise was audible in the room.

I have before and after basic clips if that's helpful.
