Albee has the best answer, but, just FYI, your laptop is not necessarliy going to be able to run Pro Tools. For one thing, the Windows 7 driver is PUBLIC BETA and for another, you only have one hard drive and Pro Tools requires a physically separate hard drive to record sessions to. Internal is best, then externally eSATA and, with the proper firewire card in the computer and the right chipset in the enclosure, firewire. USB external drives are not recommended or supported.

Have a look at the Help Us Help You and General Troubleshooting threads in the stickies and post a Sandra Report so others can have a look at your laptop's hardware and offer suggestions.

Cheers,

Tom,

I'm definitely a Hobo, but should I be HoboHayward or HoboWeed?

This question has been consuming me for some time!

Cheers,

Original M box support ran out with PL 8.0.1, which is NOT Win 7 compatible. There ya go.

That's be cause the mBox 1 doesn't work on Win7.
Win7 support was for the mBox 2 and mBox 3rd Gen.

You need a different interface if you are on Win7.
