Pro Tools LE 8 hanging on startup with VocalignLE - WIN 7 RC

Hi!

I've been using Windows 7 Beta with PT 8 LE cs3 successfully with all my plugins.

Now that I had to install Windows 7 Release Candidate because of the expiring Beta, I have problems with starting Pro Tools. It always hangs while scanning VocalignLE.dpm and I have to force PT to quit.

If I trash "Installed plug-ins" under "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE\DAE Prefs" and run PT the first time after that, it scans all the existing plugins again and doesn't hang at VocalignLE.dpm.
However the next time I start PT, again it hangs while scanning VocalignLE.dpm.

I already have deinstalled IE8, so it has nothing to do with that. What can be the cause of this.. it worked great wit Win7 Beta, why it's acting up with Win7 RC ??

Any other DUC'ers with Win7 RC that have the same problem with Vocalign?

Dunno, win7 RC is making more and more problems.. I reinstalled everything with PT 8 cs3 onto a blank system and beside the VocalignLE that's not loading after the first scan, I see more issues with PT8cs3.. it's stopping playback all the time..
Could be I'm going back to Vista Ultimate 32 that I still have.

Any other VocalignLE owners that were on Win7Beta and now have problems on Win7RC ?

Ok, I had another Vista Business 32 bit license (MSDNAA).. installed it and PT8cs3 with VocalignLE and several other licenses like Transfuser, StructureLE, CompressorBank, CPT is loading fine.. even tried a test session with Transfuser on 5 auxes, 16 stereo audio tracks, dozens of CompressorBanks and Sansamps on the tracks.. it's running fine up to 85% CPU usage (PT's system monitor.. in taskmanager it's like 98%) and 58% disk usage on the internal drive of my laptop :)
And all this allthough Vista has DPC latency of 1000 microseconds every second bar.. well I don't care as long as it's running fine.. oh yeah, internet connection is running as well hehehe..

Well, I really liked Win7 so far.. the interface and workflow especially.. but I won't install it again until it's fully released and a couple of patches have been released for it.

Now I'ma try and install IE8 and see if it causes any trouble

IE8 makes no difference..
Right now I'm running 24 stereo channels (with Transfuser, auxes and audio channels), 54 CompressorBanks, 24 AIR Enhancers, 24 DVerbs and s.th. like 8 regions with elastic audio, all from the internal laptop drive while writing on the DUC
PT system usage monitor: 71% CPU, 5% Elastic Audio, 56% disk usage
Windows task manager: 95% CPU, 1.39 GB RAM

its doesnt sound like an windows 7 issue....what build do you have ?

and what laptop brand and hardrive are you running, those results are good as far as processing.

My Laptop is a Lenovo ThinkPad T60p. The internal drive is a Hitachi Travelstar of 100GB with 7k2 RPM (HTS721010G9SA00).

The hanging with Vocalign LE only happened in the Win 7 RC build 7100. All was good with the Beta build 7000.. but that's about to expire..

I also tested (not exactly with the test scenario desribed here at the DUC) how many new Dverbs i could run @ 1024 samples with Vista Business as OS: ~50 Dverbs.
In Win 7 Beta it was better.. I could run more than 60 Dverbs.

But right now I prefer the stability of Vista Business over the overhead of Win 7 RC.

I have the same problem on windows xp sine the netframe work 3.5 update
i fixe it removing the SP3 of win xp

if you can remove net framework 3.5 i think vocalign will be fixed

fixed removed netframework 3.5 sp1 and use netframework 3.0

vocalign work for me !!!

Vocalign LE has always ran sluggish in compared to the Vocalign LE (mac version) same system and even when i run vocalign LE on other windows rigs it runs slow..

Funny thing is that if i run the demo of Vocalign 3.. vocalign runs quick..

i think they (syncro arts) did that on purpose!!!!
