Default 5.1.1 session files open in 5.0.1 with no tracks??

Is this a problem I missed? I did some sessions on a friends 5.1.1 and the files open in my personal 5.0.1 system with no tracks and obviously no audio. Does anyone no why this is?

Thanks is advance for any help.

Forrest

Don't forget that 5.0.1 can't read stereo or multi-channel tracks, so you have to split into mono first.

A fellow engineer just went through that experience: downsaving and trying to figure out where all his tracks went.

When it was explained that that stereo tracks don't downsave, he complained that there should be a warning of some sort. He then felt a little sheepish when that warning screen was pointed out to him. "It's never applied to me before, so I've always ignored it."

Moral: if it's happened to you, it's happened to someone else, too.
