When starting up PT12 on Mt Lion is almost instant.


2020.3.1 the icon bounces a long time, between 12 & 21 bounces before loading up.



Am I the only one ?

Well first assuming you mean 2021.3.1 ? ....I don't have any PT 12 versions anymore to check, but I am guessing 2021.3.1 is a larger file


That said : Are your trying to run it on Mt Lion if so that could be the problem

because on my system if I have had the computer shut down boot it , then launch PT I get about 10 - 12 bounces After that IF I just quit PT then launch again I get 5-6 bounces

According to the profile in his post he’s on high Sierra.

Being I have 'animate icons' deactivated in OSX prefs I activated it just as a test. 8 bounces before getting the splash screen. Full system specs on my profile page but here's the main ones: OSX 10.13.6 on a Samsung 850 1TB ssd on an OWC Accelsior pcie card, 3.46 GHz hex core cpu, 48 gig ram.


Deactivated 'animate icons'. I don't like the visual distraction. My dock is positioned on the left side of the screen.

My bad I didn't even notice .... but I see it also says PT 2020.3 ,,,so given there is no 2020.3.1 is this thread in the wrong sub forum then ?

And I wonder if the Mt lion comment is based on another system or memory ?
