Default New G4 Macs

The second-generation Power Mac G4 - dubbed "Quicksilver" - also arrived today in a redesigned enclosure. The 733MHz model is now the entry model, with 867- and dual-800MHz systems to fill out the high end, featuring 2MB Level 2 cache and 5 slots and 40/60/80MB drives. Prices are $1699, $2499, $3499 with SuperDrives for the top 2 models and a CD-RW at the entry-level. Jobs claimed availability for the single processor models for today, with the dual-processor model due next month.

I'm interesting in replacing my dual533G4 with one of the newer models, but a word of caution: http://duc.digidesign.com/cgi-bin/ub...&f=24&t=006333
