protools crossgrade update

Hi,

I bought a used mini 003 interface as a present. I found it on a well known online store that makes the kindle.

I've just ordered the crossgrade to pro tools 9 and then having done a little bit more research, realised that you need the hardware serial number. I'm concerned that the serial number to the hardware unit may have already been used.

Is there a way of finding out if the hardware serial has already been used to crossgrade..

The reason i'm asking is, because if it's already been used, I'll return the unit as the seller accepts returns and simply buy the full pro tools 9.

Ask them., whether or not the serial has already been used or even what the serial number is.

Or, if my memory serves me correctly you wouldn't be able to complete the transaction via the Avid online store if the serial had been used so there is no harm in finding out that way.
