No Bypass of mic pres on the Mbox2???????

If you view the thread I started yesterday 52 views and no replies please advise, you can see that no one as of yet can tell me correctly how to bypass the mic pres on the mbox 2. My simple request is how to bypass the mic pres on the mbox 2 so I can use an outboard preamp. Gain structure wise it seemed like I was taking a pre into a pre. I'm still convinced that is the case. I was told (wrongly) by Digidesign to push the DI button and plug into the TRS line input on the back and this would disengage the mic pre on the mbox 2. After I told them this doesn't work and cuts the signal I haven't heard back from them. When I repeatedly asked the question "does plugging in the trs inputs disengage the mic pre automatically" I was told by Kman that it does and he suggested a couple of tests to try to verify his theory. I did the tests and he was wrong, it DOES NOT automatically change to a line amp and bypass the pres on the mbox 2 when I plug it in to the trs input as he assured me that it did. Can anyone tell me what's going on here?
