Default Loopback in Protools with an SSL2 interface

Hello

I have an SSL2 interface and PT First. I have installed the loopback update from SSL, and see that it opens as an option in Reaper, so I assume it is the update from SSL that is causing that (perhaps the loopback was there prior, I am not sure). However I cannot see loopback as an option in PT. When I search under inputs I would expect to find loopback as an option along side Inputs 1/2 or output 1/2 (not sure which, neither show). Does anyone have any experience with this please? Or do have wrong technique?

Kind Regards

J

I have Loopback with my RME's TotalMix. It does not show up in Pro Tools, it's a function of the TotalMix software. From SSL's blurb about the firmware update, it's just the name applied to the channel in the interface, it's not an option within a DAW:

"Loopback copies the SSL2/2+ output 1+2 and makes it available at an additional pair of inputs. In your DAW, select the input channel called Loopback or inputs 3+4 and record the audio as you would with any other input channel. Be sure to mute the recording channel in your DAW to avoid creating a feedback loop!"

Since Pro Tools is not seeing the name, just do as the quote suggests and select inputs 3&4.

Yes, thanks, unfortunately 3+4 is not showing up, hence I was hoping to find I had been doing it incorrectly. Thanks all the same. Anyone else?

Regards

If, when you go to assign the I/O on a Track, 3/4 is not available, go to the I/O page in Pro Tools and Default all the Tabs.

2 things(in case the above advice doesn't help):
1-I highly recommend you move away from Pro Tools first and get Pro Tools Intro. It is also free, but has far fewer limitations as compared to PT First.
2-this may not help and I am also very new to Loopback, but to make it work on my Mbox studio, I had to open the utility menu in Mbox Control to enable the feature, Just wondering if SSL has a similar utility section?

HI

Thanks for looping back. Defaulting the input tab tabs under I/O did it. I'm not really clued in all that area but it worked.

The settings available for SSL2 are the usual basics, utility section you might call it. Previous answer was the solution. Not immediately obvious.

Thanks kindly.
