Default Installation Failed

I let my 003 Bundle sit in the box for 3 months because I'm so afraid of computers. Last night I finally tried to install it, and it doesn't work. It looks like the installation is going to work, but at the end I get a prompt that say, "Installation Failed - Call software company."
So today I call Digidesign and they basically laugh in my face because I wited three days past the 90 free support. (I've I'd had the nerve to open the box and wasn't so phobic about these things, I would have KNOWN I only had 90 of support.

Running MacBook Pro OS X.5.6...... still on LE 7.4 (can't upgrade if I can't install).

I guess I'll bite for the exorbitant $3 a minute phone help. I would appreciate any other ideas. I had computer. I have to take Xanax just to check my e-mail.

For Mac OS Leopard, you need Pro Tools 7.4.2. This is a full installer that does not need a prior version (e.g 7.4) to be installed.

1. Remove any trace of 7.4, preferably using the uninstaller (available as a custom option from the installer).
2. Download 7.4.2 and install.
3. Use your existing DIGI074 code to authorize this.

Thanks for the quick replies. I went for the $3hr./$75 cap live help route, and they're taking care of me. We're only part way through the process so far, but it seems to be working, and I'm getting the 8.0 upgrade automatically, instead of having to download it from the site.

Like I said, the installation seemed to work this time, using his download instead of the disc that came with the package. He said there will be more to do yet, and I should e-mail him when installation is complete and he will walk me through the next steps. That's where we're at now, I e-mailed and am waiting for his call.
