Minimum System Requirements for 002

I've been all over the Digidesign website and can't find a list of the minimum system requirements for the 002.

Could someone tell me where I can find it?

Check the support>compatibility page. Plan on a processor of 1.8ghz or higher, 512 RAM or higher, 7200rpm drive and AGP graphics. AMD seems to have an edge on P4. P111 is not supported. Read the thread on best PC's as those 2 setups ($600 and $1000) are near impossible to beat for the money. Stay away from the intel 9xx chipsets. and above all...trust the great and powerful ALLENSTEIN!

thanks for the reply - the compatibilty document on digidesign is a pile of [bleep], nowhere is the recommended clock speed or ram stated. i have been looking for this myself for some time. thanks again

Supported CPU Models & Speeds

The following CPUs are required for best performance with the Digi 002:

* Intel Pentium 4 or Xeon CPUs running at 2.0 GHz (or faster)
* AMD AthlonXP 2000+ CPUs (or faster)


Total System RAM

* 384 MB minimum
* 512 MB (or higher) highly recommended

Additional RAM may be required for:

* High edit density sessions
* Sample rates above 48 KHz
* DAE buffer setting larger than the default
* Extensive use of plug-ins
* Simultaneous use of MIDI sequencers or software options such as DigiTranslator
* Additional RAM is recommended for better video playback performance
