Hi there
I too got the impression, that the Motormate was beeing released at AES.
I got mail from CMlabs´ Carl Malone 6 months ago saying that the MM was due in 3 or 4 months. But right now they were using all their energy on the Dashboard (which according to the product page, was to be released in Nov. 2001) .
When I asked abouth expansion units, Carl Malone wrote, that the expansion unit for the Motormate would be the Motormix (Motormate: touch sense faders. Motormix: non touch sense faders). A BIG problem in my opinion.
Finally he said that CMlabs were thinking of putting touch sense faders in the Motormix unit!
Well. Here we are in late 2002 and still nothing from CMlabs.
I guess we just have to wait and see.

I'm starting to get the feeling that Mackie has blown CM Labs out of the water with Mackie Control and the Baby Hui. They have to catch up or it's dooms day.

Was anyone here at AES that has any info on CM Labs and/or the MotorMate?

I last heard from Carl the end of Aug. in which he stated they were planning q4 release and attached a picture of the prototype also.

If I'm not mistaken, Carl actually designed the HUI.

He's always been prompt and forthright with me.

I wish Carl would be forthright with us!

As far as Mixed Logic goes - it's been covered already over last summer: Very Pricey, extremely ugly and large, unknown company. I think most of us were waiting for Mackie Control compatibility or digi's new tdm control surface that didn't show up at AES.

I'd still like to hear from anyone who saw or didn't see CM at AES>

Anyone?

I don't see any conductive fader caps on that thing. Therefore, it is useless for my needs. Too little, too late, if you ask me.

It's hard to believe that noone has any info on CM Labs. They have been taken off of my list for sure. I've reached a point in not even caring about MotorMate or anything they have to offer.

Later to: C.M. for "Couldn't Matter" Labs
