By the way, had 2 bad crash / freezes today while working.
unclicking the the “optimize … “ button in playback engine has seemed to help so far…

Thats great news. I will run the Protools update and firmware update to Carbon this weekend and see if everything works.

Any news on the "communicate" error? Is there a workaround to solve it? I would like to update to 2021.10 but afraid of issues. I'm on Catalina 15.7 and Ethernet>TB2>TB3 adapter.

I have gone back 2021.7 but because of an issue with it not keeping the 1/O settings when switching between sessions with different sample rates
BUT that may be an issue with my Carbon firmware ????
