Ok - would like to hear and see more as you go. What I would like to see are hi-res screenshots of the edit and mix screens on their own. That would tell me how much things changed as well as what changed.

Dark Mode on Windows has been improved. The contrast in the whites has been toned down and is no longer so intense.

OK, it's working on High Sierra 10.13.6.
Install went fine.

Observations:

I still don't like how expanding/collapsing a folder in the Mix Window makes the entire mixer jump down a few pixels. If you have 3 levels of cascaded folders, you cannot even click in the same place anymore to toggle open/close, as the icon has shifted far enough out of position. (in fact even two levels of cascade is enough)

So, please get rid of the top colored line when the folder is expanded, and only have the lower colored line indicating which tracks are encompassed in the folder. That way the entire mixer won't jump down a few pixels. This entire jump thing screws up targeting apps like Keyboard Maestro.

Also the colored border width of the actual folder track changes from a symmetrical border (left/right) when closed, to being thinner on the right when expanded. Then the bottom border is even thicker. So even up all the border widths please. 2 pixels should be fine for all folder borders.

And make a new IO/track path width of 7.1.4 for proper Dolby Atmos mixes.

And make it possible to save Surround Panner Presets. I should be able to assign a track to an Atmos path, and step thru some of my preferred panning configurations. This is really a no-brainer for a proper Pro Tools/Dolby Atmos level workflow.

Other than that, the dark mode fonts seem a little easier to read for plugin menus.
However, "Shuffle/Slip/Spot/Grid" still look blurry, and in the Edit Window, automation lines look a little thick.

The title bar Pro Tools icon is too dark, shouldn't it be the same as the new Pro Tools app icon (even though I don't like the new one, and prefer the old one). And the session name is too thin a font.

And shouldn't the new "MIDI Keyboard" floating window cause the Edit Keyboard Focus icon to grey out ? After all, any other floating window that overrides a-z function does this.

I think I'm gonna have to go back to light mode once again after all.

Did you install the new firmware into your HDX card - I believe that is required.

OK. Big Sur loaded and a quick PT 2021.3 test looks like things are working so far. the Big Sur UI has some differences that will take some getting used to.

I'm not even sure how you got past the initial warning screen that tells you to upgrade your firmware. My options were 'upgrade' or 'quit' or something like that.

You need to allow system security to access the HD Driver. There should be a pop up to allow access when installing, but I have heard of some instances of that window not being brought to the front or being missed. There are multiple threads in the HDX & HD Native forum about HD hardware not being recognized on Catalina (will be the same with Big Sur) systems along with steps to fix it.
