Importing Metadata into existing SFX CD Rips
As I contemplate buying soundminer or another catalog / import / preview DB app, I have come to the conclusion that a major benefit of buying said program will be the ability to import existing metadata from a server to my existing files, instead of re-ripping the master CDs..or DL files from sounddogs, etc.
An iTunes app, ieatbrainz (great name, eh?) maintains a DB of MP3s, and when you submit your "unnamed" MP3, it finds the match, and can effectively properly rename all of your incorrectly named MP3s(only about 75% effective in my trials) I was curious if soundminer or another app did this, to save me the time of re-ripping or entering my own metadata by hand. Scouring the forum and soundminer.com doesnt shed light on a definite answer. Thanks all!
