OK, Win7 x32 or Win7 x64?
I have PT MP9 on its way, and should be here Friday. At this point I have decided to do the OS HDD Swap thing, leaving PT MP9 on it's own drive & OS strictly for audio. Specs are in my sig.
My question is one I have been looking for on here since yesterday, but after a few 100 threads going "back to the future", I just did not find an answer.... For all of you running PT MP9 on a Windows machine, which version of Win7 would you recommend, x32 or x64? I really don't have any RTAS or wrapped VST-VSTi's that I am going to load right away, if at all, so everything will be "native". Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated! |

Re: OK, Win7 x32 or Win7 x64?
Good luck Smurf43, I never did get it to run worth a crap on a quadcore W7 64-bit with 3 drives (one dedicated solely to music files for MP9). Never got any help from the forum either. Finally after fighting it for a month I bagged MP9 and went to Reaper. Best move I ever could have made. It has a MUCH higher bit depth that PT, more stable and way easier to use. There are a hellofa lot more free VST plugins as well a $ plugins. Plus the dang thing will even run on a thumb drive,,, all for $60. My wife is the songwriter and she has several songs out for placement with no complaints about quality. I haven't looked back.

Re: OK, Win7 x32 or Win7 x64?
That's funny, as I am tired of Reaper's buggy updates & am looking towards PT! And yes, I am a licensed Reaper user from the 2.xx days, so I have been with it for a long time. For me and my system, V3.76 is the most rock solid out of all the releases.
I know all about PT's reputation of lack of support, $$$ grabbing skills, and all the other bull associated with using PT. I used it back in the 7.1 days and hated it then. But I am now in a position to get some decent work & need PT to do it, so I am going to the "dark side"! LOL Thanks for the reply tomason, it IS appreciated!
