Smile Help on Windows for a Macintosh user

Hello to my Windows cousins!

I'm trying to help a friend who is using a Windows system and I want to give him some advice, but before I do, I want to make sure it will work (as it does on my Macintosh system). Perhaps one of you Windows users could let me know;

If you use the Start Menu / Control Panel / Ease of Use / Change how your mouse works method to make your mouse larger, will it show up in Pro Tools that way and will all the tools be larger as well?

Thanks in advance!

It will make the arrow pointer larger, but nothing else. What's the issue? Can you(your friend) use a larger screen(assuming your eyes are older like mine). I'm using a 32" LCD TV at 1920x1080 and liking it a lot I also have a 22" LCD off to one side for plugins. I hate using a single screen(been using 2 for several years and many here run 3 or more).

I'm trying to make every mouse tool bigger to help my buddy find them on the screen more easily. Some folks (like him and me) have good vision but can easily loose the little mouse pointer when it moves quickly. He saw how on my Macintosh I can make all the tools bigger and I never loose them and I wanted to suggest a way he could do it on Windows, but alas.

Thanks for the info

Don't give up so fast. There may be a solution that I am not aware of

Just run it at a lower resolution ( on ur monitor)

I am on a Mac and I don't quite know what u mean - make all the tools larger? Pls explain if u. Could

As a side note I just got a 27" 1920x1080p up monitor Nd the colors are so brilliant - really liking that - was debating the 32" with and LED for awhile but I went with this monitor -$250 out the door

On a Mac, if you go to System Preferences / Universal Access / Mouse you can make the mouse pointer (and any tools chosen in Pro Tools) larger. You don't need to change the resolution of the monitor so you can keep the screen real estate the same and just get larger tools for easier spotting.

Try Control Panel>Mouse>Pointers and under Scheme change the size of the Pointer and other symbols.

Cheers,

Also, add trails to the mouse in the control panel. If you shake the mouse you should find it.
