Re: Pro Tools 2021.6
Don't know whether to post this here or on the Pro Tools Carbon thread, but;
Odd behavior was noticed with my Carbon after updating the firmware of Carbon. None of my meters on the unit were functioning. I rebooted a couple of times and still not working. I switched from in to out meters, still nothing. muted and dimmed, no joy. Everything else seemed to be working fine except for the meters. Finally, with no headphones connected, I pushed the headphone button, and now all meters and everything seem to be just fine. I know, by virtue of having a MSME, that sometimes things get confused digitally. But, I thought that @Kyle Splittgerber may wish to know, and to alert any other Carbon user. Thanks

Re: Pro Tools 2021.6
Thank you. Tried this one out but it didn't work for me. The message I got was, kmutils: command not found
Here is what I did in Terminal while in Recovery Mode... mount -uw "/Volumes/Macintosh HD" (Return) kmutils trigger-panic-medic --volume-root "/Volumes/Macintosh HD" (Return) So after reading your link, I tried kmutil instead... mount -uw "/Volumes/Macintosh HD" (Return) kmutil trigger-panic-medic --volume-root "/Volumes/Macintosh HD" It appeared to work, but then after reboot, I simply got one single pop up telling me "Panic Medic Boot" and that all third party kernel extension were disabled and would need to be approved "as they are used". I went to Security in System Prefs and there was no list like there was for you. There was nothing. I couldn't get it to work. I rebooted again and the "Panic Medic Boot" message did not pop up and I appear back to where I was. Then I tried to reinstall the HD Driver again and this time I got multiple popups about extensions needing to be approved like you did. I went to System Pref/Security and had an Option button to check off th extensions to approve including Avid. After restarting from the HD Driver install, everything worked. THANK YOU I do have a new issue though since using the Terminal. Three times now my Mac doesn't want to restart. After waiting a bit (while it looks fully shut down), I have to hold the power button as if I'm forcing a shut down, then I can start it up fine. Last edited by Garnoch; 06-25-2021 at 07:10 AM. |

Re: Protools 2021.6
M1 Mac user here. I went back to 2020.3.1
I’m getting beach balls and UI glitches every 10-20 seconds with 2020.6 - on every session I’ve loaded.

Some of y'all don't read Pro Tools Expert, and it shows.

Re: Pro Tools 2021.6
Hey Kev, MSME = Master of Science, Mechanical Engineering.
For years my day gig was as a mechanical engineer. I worked for a defense contractor for several years, a heavy equipment manufacturer, and a company that makes electrical control, distribution and sensor products.

Re: Pro Tools 2021.6
I like the new box that comes up suggesting exactly which plugin has caused PT to crash!

Re: Pro Tools 2021.6
I got burned by jumping on 2021.3 and 2021.3.1 early. Won’t be doing that again. I’m gonna stick with 2020.12.1 a bit longer.
Would you early adopters be dears and continue to report on Pro Tools Standard on Mojave 10.14.6 for me? Don’t care about video. Thanks bunches!

Re: Pro Tools 2021.6
Question for all:
If you update to 2021.6 and it requires that your HD Native / HDX cards update to the current firmware version... can you still use older versions of PT with the new firmware? Thanks! |

Have you tried to let it sit and see if it eventually restarts? That's about all I can recommend. |
