As to why Avid's releases are so staggered and delayed - I guess that's just how they do business now.

I'm leaning towards not upgrading, or maybe even jumping at this time for our setups. Plain and simple they are not offering anything that I want or need and is worth the $599 per license fee. Reading through the threads on Licensing, PT11 and PT12, I don't get a favorable view of how Avid is implementing support (aside from the amazing work Jeffro is doing). Despite them saying everyone has the bundle upgrades, there are still issues where people don't have them. And finally, still no track freeze or collaboration.

That may all change before the end of the year, but until it does I'll keep at it with what we have.
Avid - damn I'm getting tired of repeating this to people here - why not fix the situation?

You have the update because you have PT11HD; PT11 non-HD (aka vanilla) don't have it in their accounts yet.

But you also have PT12 - they were the first people to get the 11.3.2 update which is funny because they don't need the update.

There's no logical reason to hold it back from people who have purchased Pro Tools 11 if the update has been available for weeks, especially since many of us have purchased the past several updates(including hardware when the software was dependent.)
If it's some kind of 'reward' for buying PT12/service plan, it's definitely an odd one.

This company has made some of the biggest head-scratching business decisions imaginable the past few years. It's not surprising that it has had its struggles as a result.

Pretty obvious that Avid is holding back the 11.3.2 update in order to punish those of us who haven't upgraded to a subscription/support plan/service contract.

They gave it to the HD owners because they don't have a good plan on how to deal with them and they know that the HD users are going to get screwed at the end of the year.

It's almost comical now how much disdain Avid has for its customers, and how much disdain its customers have for the company. And yet neither can move on to something else. It's the ultimate abusive co-dependent relationship.

I don't understand john1192. You mean you have a PT10&12 bundle asset (and so you lost PT11 asset after purchasing the Upgrade Plan) and still get PT11.3.2 update in your account ??? …

Very usefull

None of us understand the Avid reasoning behind this. It makes about as much sense as mammary glands on a male bovine

Kind of reminds me of the Ferengi Rules of Acquisition - provide the product but support - not so much.
