Default Re: Data Recovery of a non-spinning external PT Hard Drive

One more "Hail Mary" for a spinning drive that doesn't spin; put the drive in a ziplock back and stick it in the freezer for 3-4 hours. I know everyone will think this is nuts, but it did work for me on 1 drive and allowed me to copy all the data. It did not work on 2 other occasions, but 1 out of 3 is better than none(and cheaper than $4K)

I've had similar successes with USB sticks and iLok that have failed.... Just works long enough to recover licenses etc.

This is an ancient but tried & true method of data retrieval from back in the day!
