Eucontrol 3.6.0 Firmware 1.5.4 (Artist Mix) Not Working

Hello All!

This is a new installation, no previous Eucontrol software/firmware installed. I installed Eucontrol 3.6.0, and updated the firmware to 1.5.4 on the Artist Mix controller. There seems to be a communication issue, as the OLEDs display what appears to be an empty "knob position box".

On the Workstations tab in the "My Workstations" column my computer does show up, but in the attached column there is an "X", not a check as described in the User guide.

I have also made sure that Eucon is enabled in Pro Tools System>Peripherals>Ethernet

In the "Assignments" tab, all 8 channels are "auto assigned", but I cannot lock either the entire surface or transport, as the boxes will not activate.

The controller is plugged directly into the ethernet port on my computer, no switch/router.

I have uninstalled the Eucontrol software and reinstalled it, and no change in the symptoms. I have tried three different patch cords, a full cross over cable Pins 1,2 and 3,6 as well as pins 4,5 and 7,8. A partial crossover cable (10-100bT) only pins 1,2 and 3,6, as well as a standard 568B patch cable, just in case the ethernet card happened to be auto sensing. No change in the symptoms with the crossover cable. The standard 5658B cable did not work.

Being the fact that this controller is used, I did a self test and it appears to pass with flying colors. I have also checked the network settings on the controller and DHCP is enabled.

I am using Pro Tools 10.0.0, with an Mbox Pro interface. Included below is the Sandra report in case any of that information is needed.

Update: I downloaded the Bonjour browser program, and I do have EuConProxy_tcp listed in services, as well as the link local IP address.

Just to check did the Mix add OK on the surfaces page ?

Yes Sir it did appear in "My Surfaces". I also removed it, and added back. No change in the symptoms.

The X does mean you are connected. Could you screen grab both the Workstations and Surfaces tabs ?

Here you go! Another tidbit of info that I forgot to add in my initial description. When I power up the controller, and the computer is off all of the OLEDs have the Avid logo. As soon as I power up the computer, the logo goes away, and I am left with what I think is the "knob position box".

It seems to be partially talking, and you said you had the Eucon pref enabled in PT right ? You could try temporarily disabling the firewall to see if that helps.

Eddie, does PT 10.0.0 really work with Eucon 3.6 ?? I seem to recall we had to use the 2.7.1 for example when we had PT10HD ...

I was wrong sorry, you do need v2.7.1 to run PT 10.

Hey folks,
I was doing the firewall suggestion, before I realized Southside had posted about 3.6 not working with PT 10.0.0. As I was adjusting my strategy, my place was hit with a wicked storm system, that unbeknownst to me was moving through my area at approximately 55 mph! Wind gusts over 60 mph, hail, lightning, etc. It was pretty nasty, took out power, killed my internet, and bit my computer!

Today I finally got my computer up and running, downloaded 2.7.1, and all is great in my world!
