Default is quad 4 intel q66oo 2.40 g optimized for le 8.0

The reason why I ask this question is because protools le 8.0 seems to run more effecient on 2 cores than 4 cores. I get more buffer errors when I use 4 cores than 2 at 85% cpu usage in protools setting. I wonder if digi done this so le would be lacking behind HD ?

3 cores here, as well.

You have to optimize your Q6600 for PT 8, not the other way around. My Q6600 works without issue in PT 8.x. I'd stick with 8.0.1cs1 for now. I get about 273 Dverbs(the old Dverb) on the standard Dverb test using only standard Digidesign optimizations. No overclocking or geek tweaks etc. I get no buffer errors using all 4 cores and my CPU usage set at 95%.

Four cores 90/95% here. Both on XP and W7/64.
