Default Keyboard control of Native Instruments Suite

I'm running PTLE 5.1(digi001) on a PowerMac G4 .I purchased the Native Instruments PT Studio Bundle and a cheap Evolution Midi KB. The NI stuff works great with the mouse, but I get no key movement or sound with the KB. The KB shows up in OMS and tests fine with the "midi received" test in my studio setup. Soooo, what am I overlooking? I'm obviously kind of new to this.
Please Help!

To get into the NI instruments you need to go through the IAC bus ... and you need the PT midi channels to be routed to the IAC bus.

Don't forget you need the NI instruments in an audio path on the PT mixer.

keep trying

Thanks Kev,
I understand about half of what you said but that's a lot more than I understood before! I'll start poking around with the IAC bus (whatever it may be) and see if some magic happens. Thanks again.

OMS has reference to the IAC on the Studio Set Up page.

Inside the IAC bus there is 4 channels that can be named as you like ... can be left as is.

NI will have a reference somewhere ... preferences or midi preferences. Instead of the Midi port you use one of the IAC buss.

In PT you select the chosen IAC bus for that midi channel you want assigned to the NI.

Just keep clicking.
You will find the bits you need.
