My current setup is: Micron pc, Pentium II 300 mhz, 128 meg ram, 4 gigs of free hard drive space. My question is if i just double the RAM, will i be able to work with the 001 decently until i upgrade everything else?

You should be able to run the 001 with 128 meg ram.
Digidesign recommends a PII 300 or faster, so you should just be okay there too. I ran a PII 400 okay with 128 megs ram before upgrading to 256 (my system is also SCSI though). Ram affects screen redraws and the number of plug-ins you can have available for use, but CPU will affect how many plug-ins you can use at the same time. I'm not familiar with the Micron pc. I think you're biggest problem could be the motherboard. If it's a BX you're fine. Hope this helps. ![]() |
