Default macbook air 2 gb ram-which pro tools ?

My son is studying music production at college and was just about to buy pro tools 10 when we realised his macbook air is probably not compatible...Here are his specs-mac osx 10.6,5
2 gb 1067MhzDDR3
1.86Ghz intel core 2 duo
We can upgrade to a newer operating system, its just the 2 gb ram that worries me.Any ideas,or has anyone used pro tools 10 on a similiar macbook air?

2 gigs is not going to cut it, and there's no way to add more ram in there as far as I know.

Not only is 2GB of RAM not going to cut it, but the internal HD in that model is only 4200RPM and the only connectivity possible for an external drive would be the single USB2 port, neither are really viable options for running Pro Tools sessions off of.
