Default Faderport/Alphatrack Digi version?

I've already read the comparisons in this forum so I'm aware of the pros and cons of both of these single fader options. I would like to purchase one of these but then I got to thinking, what if Digi made one specifically for Pro Tools LE?

My question is, has anybody heard anything about Digi putting out something like faderport or alphatrack for Pro Tools LE?

I prefer to stick with Digi stuff as it seems to work best but the only options for a control surface are a 1200 dollar command 8 or an 8000 dollar command 24. It would be nice if Digi offered a single fader control surface in the 200 dollar range. I'm ambivalent about Faderport or Alpha Track as I've heard so many stories on both ends about them. They either work great or leave a lot to be desired.

Cheers

Faderport is running well with HUI enabled in the setup

I like my alphatrack. It works great as an addition to the mouse and keyboard, not a substitute.
Very happy with the purchase.

I like the Alphatrack as well(HUI). Great little controller, just don't expect to choose your plug ins to insert on a track, through menu with these controllers. Like the poster above said, great unit for what it is, and won't replace a keyboard and mouse.

Thanks, yeah I was leaning towards the Alphatrack. I just want more control over fades and pans like I had when I used analog. I've been on Pro Tools for 5 years now and I'm good with the mouse but finally some affordable options are out there that weren't a few years ago.

I would bet that a 4 channel faderport for 500 dollars would sell like hotcakes. I wonder why I can't find any? I'd buy one tomorrow if Digi put one out.

Command 4??? Anyone!??

Faderport is good, and there's new firmware which does seem to make it more stable.

For 8 channels, you could get a used Mackie baby HUI on eBay... under $400.

Alphatrack has more functions but feels like a toy. Faderport feels like a real fader. I've used both and purchased the Faderport.

Cool idea. Digi isn't really known for spilling the beans beforehand though.
