Have a interesting question for you or perhaps Janne. Mountain Lion 10.8.5 with PT10. I installed for a recording rig and updated from Lion. I get a not approved OS for PT10 and I believe it has something to do with the untested Harpertown CPU ?

It runs fine but I wonder what's up with the pop up since Mt. Lion is approved for PT10 ?

Updating OS is always a big red alert. Always do a clean install to empty storage, then combo update to latest version.

Unsuported hardware is also a big unknown, but it should not matter. Your issue is most likely software. With that said, most will just update to PT10.3.10 but some swear to god PT10.3.6 is the best.

How did you do the update? The Apple Way and install right over the top of Lion or the Right Way and a clean install? Clean install is always the best. As for PT10 and Mountain Lion 10.8.5 it worked for me from the get-go on the iMac in my profile page. I got the machine from Apple Refurb and it had ML on it. Worked perfectly on OSX 10.3.10 as well.

What specific Mac are you running this setup on?

Did a clean install of Lion then PT. Then Upgraded to Mt.Lion upgrade.

When I did the Mt. Lion upgrade I got that message.

I did find this on Avid's site and that's why I think it has something to do with the Harpertown CPU.
Harpertown, Clovertown and Woodcrest models not explicitly tested with Pro Tools 10.3 or Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) --use the info from the HD page about performance issues.

Will do a clean install with Mt. Lion then install PT10 and see if the message pops up. Nonetheless it runs fine otherwise.

Janne mentioned 10.8.4 is the best combo but my Mt. Lion USB stick has 10.8.5 ?

You should have done a clean install of Mountain Lion. Avid can't possibly test every system variation. You haven't answered the question I asked previously: what exact Mac are you trying this on? What year/model/etc.
