Default HELP! DIGI 002 NOT RESPONDING WHATSOEVER!

After shutting down my Digi 002 last night, the power switch made a small zapping crackling sound. Turning it on, it just read "Validating...". I turned it off and back on and now it will not respond. The text windows just glow orange, no text.

I tried holding enter-undo-standalone and repowering, and held esc-display-rec while repowering with no results. What's the deal?

Hey this is a very simple fix,you can do it your self in three minuits.take the lid off the 002r.there is a grey ribon cable that is not hot melt glued on,its the only one,all the others are glued on,this conection oxodizes.just unplig it and plug it back in.that should do the trick.

My DIGI 002 Rack is having a similar problem.. It just starts up and doesn't do the normal 3 clicks. Also, the sample rate light never goes on and even if you press the other buttons, no response comes from the rack. Of course protools can't read it either.

I took the lid off and found 2 ribbon cables that were clamped to the front where some of the lights display. I unhooked them and rehooked them but it's still not working. Any suggestions are appreciated.

And if oxidizing does not do it, then you may need to replace the power harness... I actually had to this myself recently. DIGI overnighted a new one to me.

Good luck

Well, I think the first response said digi002"R". With that said, I have the 002 with faders. I did remove a lot of screws. What a pain in the @$$. Anyhoo, I finally got to peer inside and all of the grey ribbon cables were hot glued. 1 did fall off when I was looking inside, but I got it back on.

The wires coming off of the power switch went to a connector on the board. I did remove and then reinserted the connector. Plugged the power cord back in, flipped the switch and it was back to normal!! Then came all the screws to reassemble it. What a pain in the... THANKS A BUNCH!!! IT WORKED!!
