You can individually restore parts of a backup.

Certain plugins that have multiple architectures are better recognised.

Newer type AAX plugin cache is handled.

A couple of small bugs have been fixed.

Some files (notably some Avid template files) have higher permissions than is usual, still trying to work out how best to deal with that.

Cheers,

Woohoo! This is the only reason I'd continued using V1. I typically only want to delete/restore a single file, not the whole enchilada. Thanks for this!

2.5.5 is up. Trying to mitigate some problems people are having with backing up to Cloud folders, not there 100% reliably yet unfortunately.

Added an option on advanced trashing to not backup before trashing selection.

Cheers,
Pete

2.5.10 is up.
Hopefully behaving even better with people whose systems have iCloud Documents folders.

Hey Pete! I hope your doing splendidly!

I'm unable to get PT Prefs 2 to trash my preferences to on Pro Tools 2024.6.

It will still successfully trash the AAX plugin cache though.

Any idea what might be going on here and how I could troubleshoot? Thanks!

Hi,
First thing, I assume you're trashing from an admin account? The software does no process/permission elevation and will fail if the preference files don't have User permissions (there is one group of files, namely some of the Avid surround templates, that for some unknown reason have more restrictive permissions. This is something that I need to address but I haven't yet for various reasons).

How exactly are you trashing? What happens when you do it? Can you right-click and do a Get Info on an item that has failed to trash and tell me what the permissions are?

Cheers,
Pete
