I just have to say, that I am extremely happy with the "new Avid." So many of us were panicking this last year when Avid was going to be purchased by STG. There were rumors that Avid was going to become even worse and that it was time to finally jump ship.
Although I LOVE Pro Tools, for the past 10 or so years, I have hated Avid. This was primarily because I felt like they weren't listening to the users. They were changing their subscription models and demanding that we stayed up to date on our Perpetual license upgrades or we were severely penalized. But I have to say that everything that has happened with Avid the last year feels so different to me. Their decision to stop penalizing their users for not staying up to date is huge to me. I also finally feel like we are seeing significant upgrades every release. 2024.3 and 2024.6 have been very significant. They both included a huge list of new features and bug fixes. While I know some people are going to be frustrated that their specific bug is not fixed yet, I genuinely feel that Avid cares and is honestly trying to get things fixed and introduce new features at the same time. I feel like we see more Avid representation on these forums and even more genuine listening and help. I hope that Avid sees a huge boost in sales. I think this will happen because people are no longer being forced to be up to date. Since Avid is introducing so many new features to Pro Tools, it finally feels good again to be paying the company for listening and working hard on making our tools better. I just want to say thank you to the Avid team for all of your listening, changes and hard work. It is noticed.

I agree. There has been a clear change. The community and Avid always used to be at war with one another with the punishment pricing, push to subs and lack of bug fixes and features.
Thanks again to Marianna and the others here who take on issues and fight for resolutions, the difference is very notable and appreciated.

I like that Avid has introduced new features, and I want to upgrade and the upgrade is worth it, but
I still can't upgrade and have been forced to watch since 2019 because Bug PT-263050 has still not been fixed I do appreciate the Mods trying to get the bugs fixed, it's been giving me hope for years, it's just sad that nothing has changed for people like me Been on Pro Tools since 2001, Pro Tools 5,1 and this has never happened before, I can't go beyond 2019.12, it's just impossible to work with this bug destroying the session layout every time |
