Default Music Distribution

Hey guys! I have a question about my latest song I'm trying to release online.

I have a profile with reverbnation, and have one song distributing to iTunes, Amazon, etc. I'm uploading my latest song, and it says I have to pay $35, again. So for each song, I have to pay the amount, (i.e. 3 songs = $105/year)? That's a little steep in my opinion.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

-Justin

I've never used or heard of that site before, but according to their Digital Distribution page it's $35 per year so is it possible they're asking you for another $35 because it's now 2011, a 'new year'?

That is quite possible, but they also said that when I uploaded my last song, I would be charged that amount on the date I uploaded. That date was 9/11/10, so the payment shouldn't recur until then?

Also, do you have any other suggestions for other websites to distribute music?

1st-
Please read the forum descriptions carefully and post in the correct forum as this is the Mac Le forum- NOT The general forum - in which your post should be located.

2nd-

Tunecore.com. Approximately $50 and $19 each subsequent year to have international digital distribution for an entire albumand and you pay no commissions. tune core can also get you on Amazon, which is a prerequisite for Pandora.

My apologies for posting to the wrong forum. I'm used to posting all my threads here, since I always use this forum.

I will check out tunecore. What if you upload, say, 1 song every 3 months? Do you get charged for each upload?

Thanks!

You could also consider CDbaby. I just released an album and through them it gets to iTunes, Amazon, etc. I think it's $35 an album. Here's the thing that I have recently learned....to be an artist and release a CD it's just pay pay pay.....all the money you would normally spend on gear ALL goes to releasing product! It's all part of it....but it IS worth it.
