Plausible - but sadly in this case wrong and just wishful thinking

iZotope did not license Cedar's source code from Retouch or DNS-One for RX. More specifically, iZotope has licensed the possibility for RX to interpolate spectral selections, which has been protected by Cedar's pioneering patent. iZotope uses its own algorithms to do this job, but some of them are indeed close to what Cedar has patented.

Won't be too embarrassing then if iZotope's new algorithm gives better results than CEDAR (I am NOT saying it will, just "wishful thinking"!)

Izotope's de-click and de-clip are VERY good (when used correctly), I also have the CEDAR Studio which includes Cedar's de-clip so I am comparing the real thing. So far, in my opinion, there is nothing like the CEDAR DNS but...we'll see how this new Izotope's 'real time' de-noise compares. I am also interested to hear Izotope's new "de-verb", I have UNVEIL which is simply amazing (it does things previously considered impossibilities - just don't over do it).

Me too. I was just about to purchase Unveil and had to stop and think. Has anyone had a whiff of a demo for the de-reverb from Izotope? I really liked what i could do with the Unveil demo but as I have RX it seems prudent to curtail unnecessary extravagance!

Unveil is very nice. It can't fix everything but has done some pretty cool things. Just as RX is nice, I use other NR plugins. One plugin is never good for everything. Can't wait for RX3.

Christopher Hicks is one of the brilliant minds in audio.

Alexey and the team behind RX are no slouches either.

Glad to have them both helping us do our jobs better.

Just seen the news. Plan to buy RX2 in a few days, nice to see that it's just getting better.
