Guys,
I am a bit of a budget and can't afford antares autotune.
What else is available that works and is easy to use with PT8 and LE?
Thanks

Melodyne is $250 for the light version - anything cheaper?

Not if you want good results. Maybe you have a local studio that would tune a track for $50 and save you buying the program, but these plugins are ultimately well worth the money. It takes a lot of code to make this stuff happen and sound good. Meanwhile, if you have PT8, you can make spot corrections for free since you have Elastic Pitch. It involves enabling Polyphonic EA on a track, highlighting the region you want to shift, cutting it(separate region), right-click on the region and select Elastic Properties, and adjust the Cents until the word sounds correct. Once you have it, turn off EA and Commit. This works fine for a spot here and there, but you sure don't want to tune a whole vocal track like this.

Melodyne Uno Essential has been a part of the Ignition Pack for years.

Now that DNA has been released, Melodyne Uno Essential has been dropped and the old Melodyne plugin has been changed to Melodyne essential RTAS and is now included in the Ignition Pack.

Maybe all you need to do is dig through your installation disks, check your Avid account for the additional software download or purchase a new PT-8 install.

Here's a few budget options:

Antares Auto-Tune EFX ($99):
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Antares-...93-i1428200.gc

Antares Auto-Tune EFX Vocal Suite ($149):
http://www.guitarcenter.com/Antares-...75-i1480418.gc

You'll get the same basic functionality out of Auto-Tune, though you won't have the in-depth pitch editing that you can do with the EVO version. It's quick, cheap, and super easy to use.

I see you got 003 Factory.

That means you got Melodyne (UNO) Essentials already.

Just check the disks that came with you Factory,
and then go to Celemony and reg + upgrade for free !

IMHO melodyne plugin is pretty cool but i'm not convinced i like the way these guys do business. Melodyne Essential RTAS isn't melodyne plugin, it's still a cut down version, for the celemony site:

If you registered your copy of Melodyne essential before the 1st June 2009, the update to Melodyne essential RTAS costs 59 US$ or 49 Euros. More attractive financially is the direct update to Melodyne assistant, as that only costs 149 US$ or 99 Euros – rather than the sum of the two updates. Naturally you can also update directly to Melodyne editor for 249 US$ or 249 €.

For all first registrations after the 1st June 2009, the update to Melodyne essential RTAS is free.

They've also bumped up the price, the update to the melodyne plugin was 199.
