Default iLok License Manager Error and PT10/11 errors

Forgive me if this has been covered. I did a search but didn't find anything that quite fit.

I installed/upgraded to PT10/11 with the new iLok2 two days ago and everything was working fine. Today I started my system and tried starting both PT10 and PT11 but got the error that it couldn't find my iLok license.

The iLok is plugged in and has the licenses, checked on another computer using the ILM, 32bit version.

The ILM 64 bit version is also giving me the error that it can't find the connection to the server, however the computer can see the internet. The ILM errors out and says to re-download (done) and restart (done). I have reinstalled and restarted several times. No go.

I tried a repair on the PT10/11 installation and that did not help. The software still can't see the iLok licenses. I have moved the iLok to different usb ports. No go.

Let's see. I can't think of anything else to do at this point.

I had problems on my Win7 SP1 64bit machine, too. I got the ILM to work on a Mac Pro, but I put my Win7 PT setup on hold until Ilok gets serious about cleaning up their messy release.

I am surprised that Avid has not reprimanded Ilok.

There is a sticky with dozens of posts from people who lost the use of their PT license while the Ilok people putzed. I have no faith in their support and believe the ILM software was not ready to be released. It is a travesty that professionals have to put up with such incompetently bungled software. It is worse that freeware.

I get the same error!
Installed the new ILM to get ready for PT11 and this error comes up.
Ilok sees my Ilok2 with 14 licenses, but my Ilok1 with 48 licenses doesn't show anything.

Ilok support is taking care though, so far no solution.

I hope they clean up this disaster soon.

So, now it's an intermittent error with the new ILM released on 8/12. I was able to deactivate and reactivate licenses on the 64bit computer. Reinstalled the PT 10/11 bundle. PT 10 would start and then hang at DAE Loaded.

Tried uninstalling PT 10/11 and re-installed ILM 64 bit. Re-installed PT10/11. ILM sees the iLok. PT11 starts. PT10 goes through a few plugins I don't have licenses for and I quit on each then it stalls at DAE Loaded. Deleted the plugins I can't activate and PT10 starts. Weird. It should move the plugins that I don't have activation for to the unused plugins folder.

Both work today. I'm not really very reassured by the intermittent problems. Why does it work today and not yesterday?

Bob, thanks. I believe that is the one I'm using. v2.2.1_r23238... just downloaded this morning. Correct me if I have the wrong one.

I enable my internet connection and try to start the ILM and it gives me the Server Connection Error msg again.

It's almost like the Pace software might not be starting when the computer starts or when starting PT10/11 (I'm really guessing, here). I'm seeing lsm.exe running in the Windows Task Manager Processes window, so...

It's a bit frustrating to say the least. Works then doesn't work...

i got this problem too. win7 sp1, pt 10.3.6.

ilok not recognized

was just fine when using 10.3.3
