Default Just some helpful info...

I recently took a PC made session to my Mac friend's house and found out that OS 10.3 can READ NTFS file systems but can't write to it (yet). I was able to transfer the files to her G5 but I needed to take her external Mac-formatted drive home to keep working on the session at my house.

The future solution:

Use a FAT32 partition on my external drive (or just format the whole drive to FAT32). OS 10.3 (and maybe earlier) can read and write to FAT32...or so I've read. I'll re-post when I actually try it.

(I used Mac Drive to open up the Mac drive on my PC by the way, ...works great.)

How did you take the pc session to your friends house?? can she burn you a dvd or a cd-r?

I have been transfering files on a daily basis from my portable imac and my home rig pc based, simply using dvds.

You can't play a session directly off a non-native formatted drive.. be it FAT32 or NTFS.

If you'll need to do this often, I'd recommend dedicating an external FW HD for cross platform xfers.
Format it in OSX, and install Macdrive on your PC.
So far that has proved to be a solid and trouble free method for this user...

good luck,
