It definitely kept me from Purchasing an HD rig @ the Memphis studio; I too hav RME converters as well as an API A2D along with some really good pres, comps, etc. so I don't miss HD @all... ADC doesn't even bother me TBO...

Even when live tracking on the HD rig, the most I use(d) is 18 i/o's so I really hav no complaints for the most part...RTAS could obviously be better but hey, they "say" they're workin on it

Keybeeetsss ,I just came across the BLA product line and it seems a perfect fit for how I work, recording in LE then transferring to HD. Glad to know you're happy with it.

Yeah, u will hav some to try & tell u it ain't this or that as with anything, but I kno 1st hand that it is what they say it is; There are quite a few Commercials spots here that hav a problem with me because of the work I get not only running in LE but on PEECEE

I was put over the production & mix for a song for Haiti by the Memphis Music Foundation; we cut @ 6 different studios, all being high end "Sound Hotels", & guess who all the other producers & the commission wanted to mix it from recommendations & off prior work? the guy with LE & a PEECEE... 119 tracks

Keybeeetsss, I generally use a Ramsa DA7 Digi board into an ALESIS HD24 HD recorder for tracking, limiting me to 16 tracks ADAT (I can reassign the board for some OD's to 24 tracks)...then transfer to PT LE for overdubs on location then into my HD rig for mixing. Plugin Version Management has been a pain..but I basically use the DIGI plugs til I get to my HD system where I don't have to worry about compatibility. The BLA mod looks very attractive. Their mic pre's look good as well.

Really the mods turn the pres in the rack to some very usable pres; I hav API's, Avalon 737(British mullard tubes) La610 with RCA tubes, Vintech gear, Focusrite pres, Aurora GTQ2, & a few others & the BLA pres in the rack I would use in a heartbeat now...

I must update my rig config. That old Dell is now pretty much my Mastering Machine running only Wavelab,,,with an ancient 6.4 PT Mbox version on it. My new 003r is running on a new Dual core Dell bought this year and is running great. My HD is still running HD2 on a PPC DUAL 2.0 stuck at 7.3 due to my unwillingness to WUP up my Waves plugs. I'm pretty much moving to McDsp...PT 8 on my Macbook Pro ( which can still use my old MBOX and or 003r) and the new DELL PC running XP and PT 8 with the 003R ..&.PT 7.3 on my PPC HD2...I get a serious headache trying to align these 3 systems. But that old Dell is out of the loop though it was the focus of my original Nuendo/PT comparison.

we're still on 7.4 in Nashville; PPC G5... the main plugs on that rig are McDSP & a UAD card... & the fave TL SPACE'age...

Keybeeetsss, cool I was thinking of takin my PPC to 7.4 instead of 8..ADC was my main issue due to parallel compression I like to do on drums. I love my TL plugs...Space and drum rehab. Most other 8.0 upgrades didn't mean much to me ...I do vocal comps etc. old school...multiple takes ..cut and past to a master track etc...my system is rock solid ..really don't want to mess with it too much. I was very intrigued with the BLA ext clock though as opposed to or in addition to their external summing. Checking out the Dangerous Audio stuff too.

I have to mention Mellowmuse software...they have a parallel compressor that is killer...no bussing just a mix control...they also have a great low processor intensive ir reverb and and a smooth eq....and ATA a ping based LE ADC based solution.

OK ext clocking ....opinions?
