Pro tools free - osx versions

Happy New Year everyone!


I'm wanting to know if there is a comprehensive list of all the PRO TOOLS FREE versions, and where to download them?


I own my own pro tools, but wanted to get a FREE version for one of my other computers, as a DAW that will help me just get some basic tracking of guitars with the existing bare bones tracks from a PT session. I'd then be exporting those wavs and put into my other computer with my older PT version session.


Doing this so I can have better access to some better amp sims for recording guitars.


Anyways, if there is a list of the downloadable versions for PRO TOOLS Free somewhere, kindly point me in that direction with links.

Hi,

Currently, the free version is Pro Tools Intro.
This share the same installer with other Pro Tools Tiers (Artist, Studio, Ultimate)
You just need to register at https://www.avid.com/pro-tools/intro

Once registered, you'll get a license for your Intro. Just activate it using the iLok License Manager Application that comes with your Pro Tools installer.

Do i need to have a physical iLok? I have my old usb Ilok which i'm currently using on my MacPro 3,1 on PT 8.0.5.



would i have to switch back and forth with that, or is it a digital ilok licesnse now?


Also, i'm running on Mojave, so will the Free version work on that OSX?


Having a list of what OSX and older versions available would be ideal...not sure why this seems so difficult for Avid to provide on their site. Doesn't need to be such a mystery.

I’m running INTRO 2024.10.1 on a Mac M4 Mini with Sequoia (os 15.2) without a hiccup, strictly as a backup rig. No physical I lok present on this one.

No need to have physical iLok. Can be activated on a machine itself. Yes. It will work.
