When I do a search on the forum, it only searches backwards a couple of months or so...at least as far as I can tell. I'm searching for keywords and user name combo's that I know exist (cause I can find them manually) and the search page returns no results. If the search feature won't search the ENTIRE site without any date limitations, then searching the Archives is useless.
Could we maybe fix that? Thanks! ![]() |

Hello BG
The User Conference software is produced by Ultimate Bulletin Board www.ultimatebb.com and has been somewhat modified by me. If the search feature is not functioning correctly, hopefully it will be fixed in the next software release. I plan to update the User Conference software again this year. I second what Disco Doctor says, try a search on "Pro Control", no good. This does need to be fixed soon especialy as the Tech dept urge users with technical problems to search the user group before getting into it with them!

![]() ![]() Then I re-created the search index. Now "Pro Control" gives 500 results and "Pro Control dae" gives 90. Try your searches again! Wendy Renee Digi Webmaster ![]() [This message has been edited by webmaster (edited 04-27-99).] |

That worked! So, do you have to rebuild this "search index" manually every so often, or can it be scheduled to be done automatically?

The search index is not supposed to need rebuilding. It updates each time a user performs a search, which I imagine is quite frequent around here!
Julian wanted to know how to search for Pro Control without getting back extraneous results for Pro and Control. The answer is simply to include quotes in your search string: "Pro Control" instead of Pro Control Regards, Wendy Renee Digi Webmaster |
