7.4 and Win7
Hello!
I do not have much need to upgrade to v8. I however, would like to switch over to Windows 7.. With my test install PT MP7.4 refuces to launch within w7 32bit. It starts with and error"Pro Tools aplication has stopped working" almost as soon as i launch it, and then clicking 'Close Programme' takes me to another error window, "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005)" I understand PT7.4 is not supported in win 7, but was hoping to have it working. I even tried enabaling the run as admin, and Xp sp3 compatibility. M-audio interface is the FW1814 with the latest drivers. Any light ? Thanks a ton! Sidhu |

Re: 7.4 and Win7
I have discovered a registry entry that as far as I can tell fixes the problem and allows 7.4 to run on windows 7. I have verified this with the M-Powered version, not sure about LE. You can download the Reg File here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?nozztqzznmm This is NOT any sort of crack or hack, it just addresses the IE8 issue. You need to completely uninstall pro tools along with any registry remnants. Then install the registry file. Then do a clean install of Pro Tools 7.4 Hope this works for you...... |

Re: 7.4 and Win7
I think you probably should, PT7 will no longer be supported.

Even if you could get it working using soulranger's suggestion, you may have other problems. PT7 is not and will never have Windows 7 support. .

Re: 7.4 and Win7
Yorugman is right. If you are really into Pro Tools, you really should go to PT8. I have somewhat migrated away from Pro Tools exclusively so I found this fix for my antiquated 7.4 for when I feel the need to come back to Pro Tools.
