Default HDX card not showing (Sonnet Echo III Desktop - Mac Studio Ultra)

Hello,

Facts :
- fresh Mac Studio Ultra - preinstalled 13.2.1
- Protools Ultimate installed via Avid Link
- Sonnet Echo III desktop housing a single HDX card (card previously mounted in a Mac Pro 5.1 for years)

Protools stars fine, but all I get in the hardware setup page is "Aggregate"
i have tried to uninstall/reinstall the latest HD driver (which shows up as "installed " in Avid Link... still no HDX card available

Here are a few screenshots to make it all even clearer.
did I miss something ?

What kind of cable/adapter are you using to connect the expansion chassis to your Mac studio?

Tried both short Thunderbolt 3 cable supplied with Sonnet and a longer Apple Thunderbolt 4 1.80m
(I have also tried different slots)

Is your iLok with your Digilink license plugged into the Mac studio?

The Ilok is connected... but ouch !.... didn't activate anything like this "Pro Tools Digilink I/O 0 of 1 activations used"


I guess it just took 5 minutes for you to solve it
Thanks very much, I guess you pointed in the right direction 🙏

since which release Is this activation required ? I can't remember this for my pre 2021 versions.

Too bad, I'm on the latest Pro Tools 2023.3... so that's not what will solve my problem.
Any other lead ?


do the screenshots tell something wrong ? (except it's in french !)

It seems that others are having the same issue with no clear solution as of yet. Maybe you can go through the support process to further Avid’s awareness of this issue.

UPDATE : I guess there is something that has to do with a driver though...
Because, if I carefully read the manual (Sonnet) I should get this in the system infos (PCI) : "driver installed : YES". But I don't. I have this "YES" when the card is installed in my older MAc 5.1 (raw screen capture attached).

Recovery mode start and change security to allow driver to load?
