Default Will Heat for HD Native be included in the next version of PT 11?

I purchased Heat for TDM years ago for Pro Tools HD. When I purchased a Pro Tools HD Native card Heat was not supported. Now with PT 12.1 it is supported. Will this functionality that I have already paid for be returned to the next version of Pro Tools 11?

I doubt it. Clip gain was part of Pro tools 10, did it trickle down to Pt 9? But then again, who knows?!?

I don't remember any feature that was backported to older major version once the version has gone into maintenance mode...

Do you still have the asset on your iLok? If so, then you can now use HEAT in 11HD, natively (without TDM cards).

I think he intends to freeze his rig at 11.

Hmm, I have no idea if HEAT can be used in the non-HD version of PT

For realsies? I thought it was 12.1 HD only. I didn't even bother to try with 11 HD.

Sorry if this is causing confusion. This might help clarify

Pro Tools 11.1.3 HD using HD Native card
Heat ilok asset from TDM on my ilok
= HEAT doesn't work you need to have an HDX card to use HEAT.

HOWEVER...

with Pro Tools 12.1 HD I could have HEAT working with HD Native hardware. Downside? Having to spend $599 to upgrade and then again if I want updates in a year.

HEAT was and is NOT included in vanilla Pro Tools 11 or 12 (non-HD version) only HD customers.

If you didn't already buy HEAT, you'd need to buy it but if you own it from the TDM days already, you can bring it back from the ashes without having to re-buy it.

Geez wouldn't it be so much easier if HEAT was just included across the board as part of all PT products?

My original point is, I already bought HEAT, then it was disabled, now it is re-enabled - why should I have to pay again? Capesh?

I understood perfectly.

Avid would say you're paying for the development cost of implementing HEAT natively and incorporating that into PTHD12.1 only. We are all free to say that's a bunch hooey. Such is the circle of life.
